Internal Missions The Department of Missions undertakes the responsibility to advertise internal missions and those of Mutual Supervision in universities. Specialized members apply to the General Administration for Missions and complete the required papers that are as follows: The required documents and papers for carrying out the mission: · An abstract of Master degree · Three letters of recommendation from the members professors · The Bachelor degree · A certificate of grades accomplished throughout the academic years · Master certificate · An application from · Plan of research The required papers after the candidature for the mission: · Reservation letter · Accomplishing all financial dues through a guarantor · A letter from the University certifying that the member has not been nominated for other missions or scholarships prior to or during his candidature for the Internal Mission · The Universitys and Facultys consent for registering for a Doctorate degree · Deputized, the Excecutive Committee of Missions carries out the procedures of accreditation, forthwith the Universitys Cultural Relations or the Research Center are notified with the approval and the member recevies a letter of leave. The assigned duration for Missions is: 5 years from the date of receiving the Universitys confirmation for registering a Ph. D degree. The Mission is extended annually in accordance to the members need for extension to complete the research, without exceeding the timeframe of 5 years, starting from the date of registration and ending with the accomplishment of the Doctorate degree. The University retains the right to enforce the termination of the Mission if it has sufficient reason. The required papers for extending the internal missions are as follows: ■ The commendation of the Universitys Board ■ The supervisors report confirming the necessity to extend the mission another year ■ Evidence of traveling abroad to collect scientific material The member of an Internal Mission may travel abroad for the span of one year only in accordance with the decision of the Highest Committee in 11/5/2002, to access scientific material necessary for the Doctorate degree. The required papers for traveling: ■ Evidence of the member's linguistic competency required by the hosting country- 550 grade points for international TOFEI, 7 for ELTS1, ZMP in Germany and L.D and DELF with regard to France. ■ The Approval of both the delegating authority and the main supervisor (stamped and accredited). ■ A letter of reservation from the foreign country where the member is nominated to travel ■ An Application form anticipating Securitys view ■ International Computer License acknowledged by the UNESCO. ■ The medical checkout from the medical authority ■ With regards to traveling to the U.S.A., a C.V written in both Arabic and English languages must be provided. ■ For traveling to Germany the member must fill an application form and submit a photocopy of the passport. The following procedures must be followed in case of travel: ■ Confirming the reservation issued to the student through the concerned Cultural Office ■ The member is granted a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the acquisition of the entry visa to the hosting country. ■ Immediately after receiving the approval, the member notifies both the Delegating Authority and the Cultural office with a memorandum approving the travel and tuition fees, if these are included. The students family may accompany him 3 months after his travel. The wife or husband is granted a letter to facilitate the process of obtaining an entry visa. Photocopies of the Marriage Certificate and of the children's Birth Certificates must be submitted--in case children are accompanied, a maximum of 2 of the members children are allowed to accompany him on the mission expense; others (if any) will follow at the members expense. The guidelines of the steps that must be followed after completing the Doctorate degree; and required commitments: Following the students travel supervision continues until return to home country where he proceeds to the Administration to fill the return application form, he then carries on with the Internal Mission to obtain the degree within the appropriate timeframe. Some universities terminate the Internal Mission at the date of the Dissertation, others after obtaining the degree. The required commitments after obtaining the Doctorate degree: The member must be committed to serve the Delegating Authority for the span time enforced by the regulation of Missions in the article 31. This span is calculated as follows: 2 years for each year which the member had spent in the Mission, with a maximum of 7 years for the member of the Mission and 5 years for the member of the Sabbatical. Some of the Executive Committee of Missions decisions (rules) that are of importance to the Internal Missions members: · In its meeting of 4/4/2004, the Executive Committee of Missions has sanctioned the following general principle: if the member of the Internal Mission or Mutual Supervision induces a major change in the subject of his research, the date of his registration remains fixed with reference to the candidature memorandum. · In its meeting which took place in 27/6/1996, The Executive Committee decided to include the husbands consent within a list of other cases that may be considered as excuses for readjusting the registration period. · Likewise, the duration of maternity leave is abstracted from the span of the Internal Mission, and is considered to be a legal pretext to readjust the registration period. This general principle has been ordered by the Executive Committee in 30/11/1996. |
